The Cake and Bake Show

As I mentioned yesterday I was off to The Cake and Bake Show in London with my mum and sister. Overall the day was really good, but I have to say I was slightly disappointed with the C&B show. When we arrived it was literally crammed and so was a bit overwhelming. They had various classes and talks going on and workshops you could join in with. We wondered around for a bit before stopping of at a cupcake stall where I had the chocolate orange one, while my sister had the fizzy sweet cake. We then headed to the quieter area, the chocolate area. I still can't understand why!? We bought too many chocolates, my favourite being the banoffee. We then sat (eating our chocolates) and listened to a talk by a chocolatier, having a few samples of his work. Then we took a stroll around the exhibition which were mostly stall holders selling baking equipment. We found a bread/flour stall and sampled the tomato and parmesan bread, which was sooooooo tasty. I bought a few of this particular bread mix, so I can hopefully recreate this at home. As we were in London we decided to Tottenham court road, destination - Primark, where I bought the Primark version of the very famous leather sleeved Zara jacket. Then to Regent Street H&M. I could literally buy everything in there!

Hey stud!

I recently bought these studded slippers after needing to return a dress, I could have just got the money back, but hey I got these! I did pretty much see them on the way to the till and got them in size six instead of seven, even I know six would be too tight as I have a size seven pair in nude, what is wrong with me!? I still have not worn them after 3 weeks, oops! Anyway I've recently moved into my house for Uni, which I share with seven other girls. I've now been here a week and I'm surprisingly settled in. I've had my induction week and start my lectures on Monday, which I couldn't be more excited for. Today I'm off to London for the day with my Mum and Sister for The Cake and Bake Show at Earls Court, to eat as many cupcakes as possible, Adiós!

I've recently been buying some statement necklaces in order to jazz up some plain and sometimes dull outfits. The first buy was the New Look studded collar necklace. I was also buying some jumpers at the time for a/w and thought I'd have a quick look at the jewellery when I spotted this. I don't ever seem to look at the jewellery in New Look nor do I ever buy any, for me I find it quite plain and boring, very samey. I prefer statement pieces. Although I was pleasantly surprised by this piece and a few others. I hoping it will toughen up some of my plain tees and jumpers. The next two pieces I found in Oxford Street Primark when making a quick shopping trip before going to see Lady Gaga at Twickenham. I was going in in the hope of finding a pair of shoes I was desperately after but came out with a lot more. Again like New Look I never seem to find anything in Primark. These necklaces reminded of a few I'd seen in Zara for a lot less, at only £8 each!

Wednesday's wishlist

ASOS Backless Red dress, ASOS Leather look skirt, Topshop print dress, Topshop red lace playsuit, HOH iPhone case, New Look navy coat, Topshop red studded collar blouse and ASOS watch.

I seriously love a/w and can't go on about it enough; leather, studs and just the general vibe that surrounds a/w clothing. At the moment I have a thing for red and I'm lusting over these three red items. First is the ASOS dress which is backless and a shirt style, I really am tempted to buy this but whenever I go, I think its a little risqué for me. When it comes to clothes I'm not very daring and stick to jeans and jumpers that are either black, grey or white. However I still have my eye on it. I also really would like to get a leather look skirt that fits perfectly; not too tight. I have the famous pleated leather look one from Primark, but at the moment I'm really into fitted skirts. The HOH iPhone case, I'm seriously in love with his collection right now, but due to the price I wanted to get a snippet of his collection so hopefully if I actually get an iPhone which I'm hoping is soon, I'll be putting this bad boy on it. I then found this New Look jacket/coat which looks pretty similar to the ones in Zara, again this coat has no hood on it, so that's something I'm still yet to find, but this New Look one will do!

What are you loving this a/w?

How much does your face cost?

This has been a pretty popular post in the blogging world and I thought I'd give it ago as I wondered if the results would be interesting, if they'd shock me or not? I spend a lot of money of clothes and shoes etc, so I thought I would find out how much money I actually spend on my face. I'd like to point out I'm only going by on what make-up I wear all the day. The make-up I wear is all from a drugs-store, I don't like wearing high end brands everyday, only on special occasions or if I'm going out for the night.

My total is £86.66, this hasn't exactly shocked me. I'm actually pleasantly surprised my total didn't go over £100 considering I don't wear high end make-up brands day to day. I'm also surprised by the variation in brands in my everyday products. I don't think this shows a true reflection on the amount I spend on beauty, so it would be interesting to see how much all my beauty products total up to.

Primark stud clutch

Primark Stud Clutch (£8)

I recently bought this clutch on a little shopping trip to Primark in Oxford street, it was literally a pit stop into Primark for some shoes I was after. I wasn't planning on buying this but after seeing this, it reminded me of the £38 Topshop suede studded clutch bags. Although I do prefer the Topshop one, I wasn't prepared to pay £38 for something I'll probably hardly ever use. I'm hoping this will just toughen up and grunge up my usual look for a/w. I'm going to be wearing this with my black jeans, black leather shorts and Topshop leather jacket.

On the week of the 24th I headed off to Devon for a week with my family. We spent the week going out, admiring the coastal views and eating (a lot!). The cottage we stayed in was beautifully decorated in nautical prints and home furnishings. I loved our wardrobes which were little beach huts! The first night we spent eating the local fish and chips under a bus shelter overlooking the sea (classy!). The rest of the week we spent walking, shopping and going to beaches. I enjoyed the visiting the little 'shabby chic' and vintage shops, although unfortunately found nothing. On the second day we visited a pub called the Beaver Inn, which served the nicest puddings! I had a lemon brulee, and could have had a second. My read of the week was The Great Gatsby which I read for half the week, I then started on The Designer Scam by Colin McDowell. Overall it was thoroughly enjoyable staying in England for our summer holiday, although I do miss the South of France sun!

On the way.

My wardrobe.

Read of the week.
